When someone starts an online business, and many do, they tend to think that they know what they are doing. In other words, they don't have a clue. Everyone keep telling them that they need a nice looking website, throw some affiliate programs on it, advertise at free classifieds pages, and watch the money roll in. Easy money, right? That's what they think.

"I don't need anyone to show me how to do this. It shouldn't be hard at all. Actually, it should be a walk in the park." Many people probably think like that. So they advertise here and there. Free classifieds. Free advertising. Maybe some forum posting every day. Free traffic, right?

A few days go by. Then a few weeks go by and they only made about $30 in sales in one month. Many continue to do this and think that if they keep doing the same thing, maybe a miracle will happen.

Not so......

It so very true that the online work at home arena is highly competitive. If you are doing the same thing and keep getting the same results over and over again, not only are you killing your potential for online success, but you are allowing other competitors to pass you by. The only thing that you need to do is to stop and find someone who is already succeeding with their online business. Become like an investigator. Investigate what they do EXACTLY on a daily basis that created that wealth for them.

Here are a few good pointers on what you can do to succeed online:

1) Start Getting Educated......

Again, find someone who is very successful online and see what they are doing on a daily basis that creates their success. Do some detailed research online as to what methods and techniques are working for them and others. You can not succeed if you keep associating yourself with people who aren't successful online. So you need to take yourself by the hands and start to associate with successful online friends.

2) You need an Auto-responder.....

Before I go into explaining this subject, it is important that you know that you will want to work with an opt in email subscribers who will come to your site and give you their personal permission to send them periodic emails. What you will not want to do is to buy email subscribers. If you do buy them and send them your emails, then this can kill you and your online reputation.

Having and opt-in email list will allow you to free up lots of your time because your prospects will be receiving messages from you periodically and automatically. The nice thing about email marketing is that instead of you having to call them each time you want to promote something, which will take you forever, your auto-responder system will be working for you while you go out and have fun.

Imagine having an opt in list of 10,000 subscribers. If you were to call each one of them to promote one of your programs, think how long it will take you to reach all of them. It would be impossible for you. With email, you can contact them all in a matter of a few seconds or minutes. You write one email and hit the "submit" button, and you are all done.

"If I don't get an auto-responder and email subscribers, will this cut my chances of succeeding online?"

I am not saying that it will, but if you do get one, your income will just keep growing all the time as your subscribers do.
3) Find a mentor

After you find someone who is very successful online, email them and tell them that you will want to work with them one on one if it is possible. Don't try going into their training thinking that you know it all. Listen and follow each guideline that they are recommending to you.

This person will be your mentor. Your coach and most of all, your friend.

By stepping out and trying a proven way to make money online, you will begin to see that you too can make a nice income online. And the best advice that I can also give you is to never ever give up. A lot of people are making nice incomes online and so can you. Believe in yourself and you will succeed.

Do We Really Need A Website?

Do We Really Need A Website?

Word Count:
688

Summary:
Is it that important to own a website to be able to market online? No really but the chances for your success are much greater as the options that you have to build and promote your business are much more than promoting an affiliate duplicate web page.

Keywords:
Home Business, Home Based Business, Online Business, Home Business ideas, Home business tips, Online business tips, online business ideas

Article Body:
To have a website or not to have a website; that is an occurring online question.

When we set out to search for online business, we receive so many messages telling us that not having a website is not a problem as the opportunity itself will give you a duplicate page of your own that you can promote.

This is great news if you want to market only one business on the internet. But look at all the people who are marketing successfully on the net. There isn't a single person who is actually marketing one single product or service. You would find them Partnering in this or that venture, selling three or four e-books, being affiliates of numerous opportunities…etc.

Now let us say that you have opted to work with one single online business affiliate program that offers you a web page that you can promote. How will you promote it?

Let us look at the things you will not be able to do:

1- Exchange Links: Since you do not own the site, therefore, you cannot make any changes on it; accordingly you will not be able to add links to your site. If you cannot put links on your site then you cannot exchange links.

2- Forums: One of the Forums that I am involved in, and believe me it is one of the best forums around, recently announced that you can add to your signature either a product or a website that you yourself own and nothing duplicate or you do not own.

3- Adding your link to directories: I guess I will be safe to say that at least 90% of directories do not accept links with an extension. Meaning, your duplicate site would be something like that  In this case your chances to be accepted are better, still not very good though. As directory owners usually do not accept duplicate sites when they review it for approval.

What you will be able to do is the following:

1- Writing Articles: In your author resource box you will be able to put a link to an affiliate page.

2- Traffic Exchange sites: These also accept affiliates

3- Paid advertising whether online or offline.

You will realize from the above that out of the five free options listed above you will only be able to do two of them. While if you have your own website you will be able to build a full marketing effort without having to pay for any kind of advertising.

Remember this is with the limitation of having only one stream of income coming in. If you decided to get involved in more than one business then you will have to duplicate your work for each affiliate program when you are dealing with paid advertising.

The advantages of having your own website are numerous, but we will list a few here:

1- The flexibility of having all your online business opportunities in one place.

2- The flexibility of changing your content for search engine optimization and enhancing visitors' experience.

3- The flexibility of automating your link exchange activity.

4- The Flexibility of automating your content management so as to have always new content on your website.

5- Of course we should not forget that all the things that we listed above that you cannot do with an online business affiliate duplicate page, now you can do them with your own home based business website.

6- Adding a newsletter subscription which will build you a list that no home business/online marketer can do without.

Does this mean that each person who wants to venture into online business must go into the trouble of building a website, designing it, and setting it up? Not really, there are opportunities out there which have the option of building your own website as part of the package. Yet you must make sure that you own the domain name.

Scammers are getting more creative every day, coming up with new schemes to get your money (or sensitive information). Knowledge is power! By educating yourself on the common scams and keeping aware about new ones, you can stop the scammers in their tracks. Remember, if no one fell for their tactics, they would be out of business! Here are some of the most common scams today:

Stuffing Envelopes - There are no legitimate envelope-stuffing jobs out there. Please don't fool yourself into believing there are. Companies can very easily purchase a beautiful machine for a few thousand dollars that will not only stuff the envelopes, it will also fold, collate and apply postage to the envelopes. Why would a company pay you thousands of dollars a month to stuff their envelopes? They wouldn't. If you send in your fee for this scam, you will receive a copy of the same ad you responded to, and you will now have to scam other people by placing the ad and having them send you their money. This is illegal.

Typing and Data Entry - Similar to the scheme above, if you sign up for this and pay your fee, you will receive a copy of the same ad, and have to place ads to get other people to send you their money. You earn $20 per "application processed" because you are charging people $20 to get the information. Again, illegal. There are some legitimate companies that will hire you to do typing and data entry (such as transcription or coding) -- but they won't charge you a fee to work for them. If a fee is being charged, it's a scam.

Craft Assembly - Most of these opportunities are scams because they make their money by the start-up fees you pay. When you receive your kit, you will assemble dozens of earrings, potholders, magnets (or whatever), send them in for payment, and they will not pass inspection. You can try to fix them as many times as you like, they still won't be accepted. The company doesn't want the items you assembled, they want your money for the start-up kit. There are a few legitimate companies out there, however. Disciple's Cross and New England Crafters are two we've found so far. We are researching others.

Medical Billing - There are companies that will train you to become a Medical Biller from home, as long as you purchase the Medical Billing software for your computer from them. (Usually costs a few hundred dollars at least) What they don't tell you is that YOU will be responsible for finding your own clients (Doctors/Dentists). This can be incredibly difficult to do, since most medical professionals already use a billing service, or do their own billing in the office. With the new Privacy laws, medical professionals need to be extremely careful with patient records, and most will not want to trust someone with no billing experience to handle the office billing at home.

Payment Associate/Specialist - A company wants to hire you to place auctions on eBay and accept customer payments using your own accounts). You get to keep a portion of the money, and send the rest to the company. The company is supposed to ship the product to the customer, but they don't. (or they ship stolen goods) You are now in big trouble with eBay and Paypal for fraud. Don't do it! Don't ever use your own accounts for anything other than your own business. Companies should be able to set up their own accounts just as easily as you did for yourself.

Pyramid Schemes - A pyramid scheme is when money changes hands but there is no product or service being sold. "Joe" charges you $200 to join the scheme, and then you in turn need to charge others $200 to join, and they charge others, etc. This is illegal. Remember, there must be a product or service being sold.

Gifting Programs - This is also an illegal pyramid scheme, but they call it a "gifting program" -- in other words, you "gift" Joe $200, and then you need to find others who will "gift" you $200, and so on. Illegal.

Chain Letters - These have been around for years! They used to come by postal mail, but now they also arrive via email. There are usually 5 names on the list, you need to move each name up a spot, removing the top name, and place your name at the bottom, and then send $5 to each name on the list and send it out to everyone you know. Highly illegal. There is also a version for online payment services like Paypal, you send $2 or $5 (the amount varies) to the people on the list, and others are supposed to do the same for you. Don't get caught up in something like this, it can ruin your life.

Surveys & Mystery Shopping - While not all survey and mystery shopping companies are scams, there are quite a few that love to charge you a membership fee, claiming you can earn hundreds of dollars a day. When you sign up, you find more companies that want to charge you a fee to join, and companies that will pay you very little for your time and energy. There are some legitimate companies out there, and you don't have to pay to find them. Also be aware that you probably won't get rich from doing surveys and mystery shopping, but it can certainly bring in some decent pocket money.

These next few aren't necessarily work at home schemes, but they bear mentioning because they're so popular:

Bulk email - Usually these offers are sent by email, but you'll see ads like this around the internet also. You can purchase tons of email addresses for a low fee. If you have a home business and you're trying to get customers or subscribers to your mailing list, sounds like a great deal, right? Don't do it. Most (if not all) of those addresses have been harvested by spambots. If you send out a mailing to them, you will likely be reported for spam. You can lose your internet service provider, your business, and even have to pay a huge fine for spamming. Not worth it!

Phishing - You get an urgent email from Paypal, eBay or even your bank stating that your account is in jeopardy and you need to update your account info immediately! You click on the link and go to a page that looks legitimate enough, but it's actually a fake page. If you enter your login and password information, the scammer can now access your accounts. Don't ever click on a link in an email like this. Open a new browser window and type the company website address yourself. Your account should show whether there is a problem or not. (Most companies would have a big notice in there if you need to update something.) These companies usually have a spoof email address you can send these "phishing" emails to.  Simply forward the email with full headers to them. They will investigate and stop the scammer if they can.

Free merchandise - Have you gotten the emails claiming you can earn a free computer, phone card or other merchandise? What usually happens is you would have to pay a membership fee, and then get a certain number of other people to join and pay the membership fee also. Unfortunately, there is usually some little clause you weren't aware of, and you never do get your free stuff. It's a waste of time and money.

Nigerian scams - You get a long letter from someone claiming to be the son or daughter of someone important, and they need to have you deposit a huge sum of money into your own bank account, and then wire most of it to them by Western Union. You get to keep a nice chunk of the money for your troubles. The problem is that the check is fake, and takes a few days or even weeks to bounce, and you now owe that money back to the bank. Unfortunately, you don't have it anymore, you wired most of it out to those people! Another Nigerian scam targets business owners. You receive a large order at your website, or they email to ask if they can order a large amount of goods, and they ask if you accept credit cards. Do not fall for this, the credit cards are stolen and if you ship the goods, you will be out the money AND the goods.

In closing, remember that scammers are after only two things: your money, or your sensitive information. If you refuse to give either willingly, you put them right out of business. For more information on common scams, do an internet search on the FTC Dirty Dozen.

Article Body:
A study by Sharpe Partners, an interactive marketing agency, revealed that 89% of adult Internet users in America share content with others via e-mail. This is excellent news for those companies who use self-propelling word-of-mouse" e-mail techniques to sell their products.

The study generated some interesting results regarding the type of content that is most often forwarded, as well.  The most popular content is humorous material.

The second most popular category is news, followed by healthcare and medical information, religious and spiritual material, games, business and personal finance information and sports/hobbies… in that order. So it is easy to see that humor is the best content for your viral e-mail campaign.

Cartoons, jokes and funny video clips are among the things that can be added to an e-mail to insure that it will go viral. People will want to pass along something that makes them laugh.

They are a lot more likely to hit the forward button and send your email to their friends and relatives if it is an "advertainment" rather than an advertisement.

Not along ago, about 35 million people got an e-mail containing a picture taken in Disneyland. It took a minute to see it but there was Donald Duck lying prone in front of the famous Cinderella Castle.  The title of the picture was "Bird Flu has hit Disneyland". It was a viral e-mail advertising Disneyland and used the edgy strategy of making light of what's serious… and it works.

I'd guess that most people who own a computer have seen that picture… and thus the advertisement for Disneyland.  The bird flu epidemic is newsworthy and has the potential to attract an enormous amount of attention to any brand that might, for whatever reason, associate itself with it.

Remember that people are much more likely to share a joke or a funny picture than anything else so you would be well advised to include humor in your e-mail campaign.

There are many factors to keeping someone's interest on your web page or site. It is not an easy task. Your ultimate goal is to get them to come back repeatedly. There is one precious commodity that most of us do not have much of - time. Face it even you do not have the time when surfing to read in depth every site you want to. Naturally, you bookmark it because it was impressionable enough for you to want to put it in your favorites. Now read about what will keep the customers coming back for more!

Before you consider setting up a web site, you will need to have your goals in mind. Answering a few targeted questions will help you decide how to best approach setting up the site. Targeting your customer is very important. Their age, economic status and gender will play a part in deciding how you will need to have your site designed. For example, you would not sell jeans in larger sizes and higher waist styles to a junior teen sized woman. Good market research is the foundation for setting the goals of your site, and marketing and designing your site with your customer in mind. This is only the beginning and a mere part of the story of getting customers and keeping them

You will need to look at how your customer interacts with the graphics and total site layout. Ask yourself is there any design flaws that stop them from going to the next page? Is there too many banners, buttons and graphics that confuse them? Is the text on the site clear and easy to understand? Is it confusing on directions about information on ordering? Consider having others evaluate the site to give an honest opinion on site layout.

Next, consider if your site leaves the customer with a feeling of confidence in your product and service. If the writing is timid, sparse or overtly braggadocio, it is more than likely, your customer will click away without so much as a thought of returning. Take some stock of others review of your site, and work to improve on the writing. Remember though you will not be able to please everyone. Keep tweaking it until it is in line with the image you want to portray and the product it represents.

The third step is looking at the content of information on the site. Is the information relative to what you are selling? Is it up-to-date and does it helps the customer decide what they want to buy? Do you offer other content that will give your customer a sense that you care more about them than your wallet, such as information on a subject they might be interested in? This is where your market research will come in handy. A person that is in the age bracket of 30 – 35 will be much more interested in a retirement fund than a 20 – 25 year old. It is, of course, not a standard to cling to, but it is a market idea theory that you will need to tweak and refine for your site.

Does your site generate interaction with your customers? Do you provide easy ways for them to tell you about themselves like providing surveys about other interests and hobbies? Are there fun things to do on your site? Kids are not the only ones that will enjoy entertainment. Do you have jokes of the day, puzzles or a pleasant inspiring story to read? Communicating with your customer is a nice way to get them to come back and visit too. That is a real shot of personalization that will set your site apart from the others.

Finally, consider the whole package. Does the whole website design entice them, make them want to come back and visit because it was a very user-friendly experience? Without trust and pleasant user experience, most customers will not return. Trust is a key value to happy customers and returning customers too.

It does seem like a lot of work to get your website up and running. The Internet is an impersonal arena with many busy people with limited time. To break through that barrier and capture their attention takes a lot of hard work and dedication on your part. As time goes by though you will be able to capture a loyal customer base that will want to return and buy again. It will not be because of tricks or just slick words. It will be because you care about your customer, and are determined to give them the very best website you can. You will love it when it happens.

Article Body:

Article marketing is one of the best ways to promote a website.  Article marketing is relatively simple, extremely effective, and generally free (or at least very low cost).

There is one catch.  For article marketing to work, your articles have to be accepted by the article directories you submit them to, and they have to be published by webmasters and eZine publishers.

As the owner of a popular article directory, ElectricText, I can tell you that there are 5 simple ways to avoid getting your articles rejected.  Avoid these 5 things, and your article marketing will likely be highly successful.

1.  Poor Writing

You don't have to be a great writer to get your articles accepted in most article directories.  But you do have to be at least okay.  Not everyone has natural writing talent.  Don't be afraid to ask someone you know to review your articles and help you improve them.

2.  Bad Grammar

Many people are not very good at grammar or are writing and submitting articles in a language (usually English) other than their own.

Article directories and publishers expect articles to be ready to publish, with no editing required.  Minor issues may be overlooked, but when hundreds (or thousands) of article submissions are coming in per day, it's easiest to just reject articles with bad grammar.

This does not mean that you have to give up on article marketing if your grammar is not perfect or English is not your native language.  Just find someone who can help edit your articles.  Most articles that I have to reject for bad grammar could have been fixed with just 5 or 10 minutes of editing.

3.  Badly Edited (Or Badly Spun) Articles

I am continually surprised to receive articles where the author obviously did not check the spelling or read through the copy before submitting it.  Many articles that are otherwise quite well-written have a number of minor typos - misspelled words, missing words, etc.  These are the sorts of errors that could have been caught by any word processor or even just reading the article before hitting send.

The advent of private label rights content and "article spinning" software has definitely increased this problem!  What's article spinning?  Many people buy the rights to articles written by others.  Then they run them through special software that is supposed to randomly replace words and phrases, much like you might do manually with a thesaurus.  Their idea is to improve their article marketing by submitting unique articles.

Unless you overdo this (see #4), there is really just one problem.  Article spinning software often produces some rather clumsy wording.  Sometimes it's hard to tell whether an article was written by a non-English speaker or by article spinning software.

In both cases, the fix is simple.  Edit your articles manually before sending them, or have someone else edit them.  Check your spelling and grammar.  Read the article out loud to see if it flows.  I see a lot of articles that probably would have been edited if anyone had tried to read them aloud before hitting send.

4.  Duplicate (Or Almost-Duplicate) Articles

This one ties in with #3, as it seems to be largely a result of private label rights content and "article spinning" software.  There are a few authors who constantly submit multiple copies of the same article with very slight differences.

I have literally had to ban authors from submitting articles after spending an hour or two per day for several days trying to weed out 5 or 6 unique articles from 50 or 100 duplicates.  I quickly realized it just isn't worth it, as there are many other authors and articles to publish.

I guarantee that irritating editors and publishers and getting banned is just about the dumbest way to try to do article marketing!

5.  Plagiarized Articles

I'm not sure which irritates me more:  #4 or #5.  I can't count the number of people who copy and paste articles right out of Wikipedia (an online collaborative encyclopedia), then submit them as their original work.  Often they don't change anything!  Yes, I realize that Wikipedia is "copyleft" not "copyright," but there are still rules.

There is nothing wrong with using Wikipedia as one of your sources - it's an excellent source.  But use a few more sources too, then add your own original thoughts and put it all in your own words.  Please.

There you have it, 5 ways to avoid rejection and succeed at article marketing.  If you write and submit many articles and manage to avoid these 5 things, I think most of your articles will be accepted and you will be extremely successful in your article marketing.

Another attractive reason that draws people to a work-at-home job or small business is the fact that they don't need to incorporate....a sole-proprietorship does nicely. One person working from one computer these days can accomplish the same things that once required many people working many hours to accomplish. A sole-proprietorship business isn't required to file separate tax returns or pay any special taxes on income that is earned in the way that a corporation, an llc or even a partnership business is required to do. The taxes levied on a sole-proprietorship business are just for personal income.
The Internet isn't called "The Information Super Highway" for nothing. A person can make a very good living selling nothing but information on it. The populations of every industrialized nation in the world have learned that if you want to know anything about anything, you get on a computer and ask the question. They have also learned that you must pay for special information and they are more than willing to do just that. A person who has special knowledge of a subject and could be considered a 'guru' has a market for selling that information on the Internet. All that needs to be done is to set up a website, publish the information, advertise and sell the information. It's a wonderful concept and information is a wonderful commodity. There is no inventory to maintain and no shipping or handling costs involved to deliver the product. Everybody gets what they want. The seller gets paid for delivering information to a person who wants that information....everybody is happy.
There are so many advantages of working from home for the individual as well as for owners of large businesses that it is truly the way that 'work' will be done more and more in the future.

Convert RAW pictures to DNG format for peace of mind when archiving photographs.

Convert RAW pictures to DNG format for peace of mind when archiving photographs.

Summary:
Discusses why it is important to convert RAW image files to DNG files for archiving photographs.

Article Body:
RAW image files are proprieties of the cameras manufacturer their file extensions are unique to its own and do not exchange well over other programs they consist of ".RAF" for Fuji ".ORF" for Olympus, ".NEF" for Nikon and ".CRW", "CR2" for Canon, just to name a few. Adobe has also developed a RAW image file extension, ".DNG" meaning digital negative in 2004, Abodes DNG was created with the intention of unifying the individual RAW camera file formats.
Your RAW image is at its most pure, but there is no guarantee that your cameras RAW image will be recognized by available software applications sometime in the future.  You may have the most up to date software to read your Nikon RAW images today, but long-term archival of your RAW files do present some concerns. Perhaps 25 years later when you want to access your archived photographs, of your family are looking for that special photo of "Aunty Jan" as a kid, or another photo that might have some historical significance that your photos many not be accessible. This was a great concern to Photographers at the beginning of the Digital photography explosion, and even the reason why many today still shoot with film despite the advancements in digital photograph quality.
DNG image file format is the answer to this concern.
DNG files also have the added security advantage of saving all of the image information supplied with the RAW files, i.e. keywords,  descriptions and copyright notices. Basically you can have your RAW file completely intact after converting to DNG.
DNG files have the ability to store full sized files or JPEG previews making it possible to preview your photos in your selected photo viewer.
Using RoboImport as your selected digital photo management program gives photographers the ability to convert your RAW files to DNG files by including the specially developed Adobe DNG converter and enabling the option.
Most impressive is RoboImports ability to embed the original RAW image file into the DNG file. Certainly this does produce a much larger DNG file, but it does allow for those occasions when you want access to your pure RAW image. This really is having the best of both worlds.
With so much to be said of the benefits of RAW and DNG files many new digital photographers might be wondering why in the world all the other image formats may be necessary. Below is quick explanation of some other image formats. This short list is not intended as a comprehensive compilation, but just a presentation of a few of the most common.
JPEG- A common image file format that supports 8-bit color, and produces smaller files with less available information. JPEG is a compressed image format and images to suffer some degradation on conversion.
TIFF- Tagged image format is a flexible format that supports 16 bit color, or less. The flexibility of the TIFF has unfortunately created its own problems with many different variations both lossy, and lossless, some photo viewers are unable to recognize the variations. TIFF although is still supported by many printers as standard for its ability to handle device-specific color spaces such as CMYK.
GIF- Graphic interchange format is limited to a small 8-bit color palette. Gif files are very small making them ideal for internet webpages and animations.

It requires at least two networks for a router to connect, commonly it connects two LANs or WANs or a LAN and its ISP network. As a connecter device, routers are positioned at gateways, where two or more networks are connected.

Routing in the Internet

Routing is the technique using which data get its transfer path from one host computer to another. To say technically, routers uses headers and tables to determine the best path for transferring data packets among networks, and for this they use protocols such as ICMP to communicate with one other and thus configures the best route between any two hosts.

Difference between Routers, Switches and Hubs

Many people understand routers, switches and hubs for one another beside their different type of functionalities.

Today most routers are integrated into a single device having the features of a router, switch and hub. Still a router, switch and a hub are all quite different from one another, even after integrating all into a single device.

A switch and hub are two devices, which do similar task on a network. Both serves to be as a central part of your network and transfers data, which are known as frames. A transferred frame from a computer is received and improved to transmit it to the port of the destination computer. The difference here between these two devices is in the way by which frames are transferred.

On another side, routers are completely different from a switch or hub. Where a hub or switch job is to transmit frames, a router role is to route the data packets to other networks where its task is to submit the data packet to its destination ultimately. The major difference here of the data packet is that it contains destination address together with the data, which guides it to its destination.

All routers have a port to connect to a DSL or Cable modem and the integrated switch facilitate users to create a LAN. This makes possibility for the computers on a LAN to connect to the Internet.

How a Wireless Router Work

A router is connected to the broadband modem and in turn, it is connected to your computer to connect the Internet. There are wide ranges of wireless routers available in the market. In the wireless router category, for the transmission speed of data, they do not actually compete with each other.

The data transmitting speed is an important aspect and should be high. People who want to have a router should also find it easy to install as well. The array of its OS support should be versatile. A wireless router working well with Windows, Mac and Linux should be the best one among all.

While Setting up Your Wireless Router…

Once you have decided to go wireless for your Internet, then your laptops/computers should have in-built wireless points to carry it around your workplace or at home without any LAN cables. It will be astonishing to work so.

But you also need to know a little background to set it up. Generally, a wireless router features many, a router, modem, firewall, port switch and a wireless access point. It makes your broadband easily sharable among others in you office or at home.

While installation, it needs to be careful about which socket on your router is the correct one for connecting it to the port on the wall. Improper connection may lead to temporary access loss consuming hours together to fix it. So please make sure that the cables you are supposed to connect are of right match.

Setting up a wired router should be comparatively easy by simply following the instructions manual given with the router. However, for installing a wireless router, it needs to be little trickier. Usually the instructions should be sufficient but checking out to have few tips on setting a wireless router will make you secure doing it.

One of the most frequently asked questions of all time is, "How do I make money on the Internet"?

If you have been trying to make money on the Internet for even a short while, you have undoubtedly heard quite a few names being thrown about. It seems as if everyone sees themselves as an expert and everyone who is anyone knows everyone else who is someone. It is like a marketing guru clique. And they make you think that if you do not know somebody, you will always be a nobody.

You have probably encountered product launches, audio and video streaming, teleseminars, and joint ventures, etc. The gurus that are selling these products and services are making money hand over fist. In all fairness, these products and services are genuine and valuable to the folks who buy them.

But what most of them will not tell you is that there are thousands of people on the Internet making thousands of dollars a month without spending a lot of money. They do not fly to every seminar in the country just to make contacts. They rarely do joint ventures, because frankly, no one knows who they are. They literally sit in front of their computers in their underwear, click a few links, and wait for the money to roll in.

How do they do it? Affiliate links, Google Adsense, and content.

Take Google Adsense, for instance. Search engines love good content, the more, the better.

When you create multiple content pages on your website, the search engine spiders crawl the site, then follow each link to more content, which helps raise your rankings.

How does this make you money? By placing Adsense ads on every page. As readers click through your pages, many will also click the Adsense links. Every time they do, you make a commission from Google. It can be anywhere from a few cents to several dollars.

They do not have to buy anything. Just clicking the link makes you money. The more people you drive to your site, the more people will click the links, and the more money you will make.

Now all you need is content. If you are a good writer, you can write your own. But most of us are not.

One option would be to use articles written by others. Go to any of the popular article directories and you will find thousands of articles. Most can used free of charge as long as you include the resource box with each article. Since you are not promoting your own product, this is a very viable option.

The major downside to using other peoples articles is that the reader will view them as the expert and likely click the link in the resource box instead of the Adsense links, and you lose money.

However, the best option is Private Label Rights articles. Just a little editing can turn these articles into your own creation. The reader will view you as the expert, since you are not competing with another writer.

You can also include your own resource box with a link to an affiliate program, so whether they click the Adsense links or your affiliate link, you have increased your chances of making money. And you have done it without a single product of your own.

Making money on the Internet is not as difficult as some would have you believe. As with any business, give the people what they want and they will keep coming back.

If the old adage is true that what stands behind every good man is a woman, what stands behind every powerful organization? A committee. Almost all organizations that direct everything from software to soda pop, have an advisory or oversight committee behind them creating regulations, monitoring conduct, and making sure all the rules are followed. When reviewing registry domain names, there is a committee standing behind that process to make sure things happen in a fair and safe manner. That committee's name is ICANN

What is it?

ICANN stands for the Internet Cooperation for Assigned Names and Numbers. It is a nonprofit organization charged by the United States government to work with governments around the world and manage the domain name system or DNS that ensures every address of a web site is unique and functioning properly. Each domain name has underneath that a series of numbers assigned which locates that particular spot on the Internet. Because memorizing long series of numbers is neither easy nor fun, the system was created to place names attached to those numbers which we can remember and use with frequency and efficiency. ICANN makes sure those names and numbers match up with valid addresses to ensure the Internet is working properly.

What does it do?

ICANN not only monitors individual domain names and registrars, but also monitors domain name agencies. These groups take care of most of the space on the Internet and register names and extensions for them. ICANN sets accreditation standards that the agencies must meet and checks up on their information and accreditation programs. They also make sure these agencies have filed the appropriate credentials from each registrar to maintain a proper extension. ICANN also works across different governments with various requirements regarding what should be available or usable for domain names on the web. ICANN has collected a list of words considered obscenities and blocked them from Internet use as domain names. ICANN tracks site registants and keeps a consistent eye on the flow of questionable domain names through its tracking systems.

What doesn't it do?

Although it is the official monitor of the Internet. ICANN does have limitations to its power. ICANN monitors and reports but has no punitive value. ICANN does report violations to agencies which regulate and investigate any kind of fraud. ICANN does not take reports of Internet gambling, spam, or inappropriate access or hacking, All of that is done by agencies that ICANN refers to. ICANN makes no court appearances in regard to copyrights or domain name registration disputes, leaving that to other agencies and the domain name registrars. ICANN does not look for content on the web that does not meetin international laws and stardards. However it does provide access to IP addresses and records of website registrants. ICANN is a valuable resource for information in the continuing efforts of world governments to combat cyber-crime.

You can run a business your whole life and never hear of ICANN. Yet, they provide a valuable service to the Internet, making the domain names safe, accessible and accredited.

It does not matter whether it is a pro or a con. The people will always have something to negotiate for. Negotiation will always come out whenever there is something to bargain for, whether you want to achieve something in your present career, when you want to deal with other people, or simply win out a good buy in a garage sale.

Whatever the purpose is, an individual will always try to negotiate into something favorable, otherwise, he will never succeed in this lifetime.

Most people say that negotiation is an art. It tends to bring out the individuals remarkable way of winning things on his side. It can be the most amazing thing you can do with your charm and your wits, thats why other people say it can just be all fun.

Of course, negotiation is not a game that people can play anytime. When you negotiate, you should mean business all the time.

When two or more people, with dissimilar wants and objectives, would like to agree on something that will render resolution to a particular subject, negotiating is the best solution. Since it involves two- way communication procedure, every negotiation is distinct from one another, and affected by each individuals mind- set, abilities, and technique.

The problem with most people is that they view negotiation as something that is horrible. Thats because it usually means disputes or tension.

In essence, negotiations do not call for unpleasant moods. Learning the right way of negotiating will absolutely lead to a successful finale. To know more about it, here are five tips for successful negotiation -

1. Time it right

The art of negotiating depends on right timing. It is imperative that you learn to manage the negotiation set up. Always remember that negotiations should never come off where they are not wanted. You should always consider the pros and cons of the possible results before deciding on the issue. Create a list of the most important variables that you have to deliberate such as bonuses, price, delivery times, credit terms, guarantees, training, discounts, or rebate.

By contemplating on these things, you will be able to organize and plan the negotiation.

2. Manage yourself

Before you enter into a negotiation, it is best that you evaluate yourself first. Can you manage your feelings? Keep in mind that when your emotions get in the way, you tend to weaken your ability to direct your negotiating actions in productive modes.

3. Know what you are getting into

Who are you dealing with? What are his traits, attitude, or beliefs? Is he the type that can give you a winwin situation?

It is very important that you know where you are getting at before you head for the battle.

4. Be attentive. Learn to listen well!

One of the reasons why negotiations become negative is that most people do not practice attentive listening. People are so busy stating their desires that they forget to hear out the other side.

Keep in mind that negotiating is an inter- personal procedure; hence, the communication will never work on a one- way traffic. It has two be two- way.

Experts say that in order to have a successful negotiation, people should learn to apply the so- called 7030 ruling. This means that people should render 70% of their time in listening and only 30% for talking. In this way, you will be able to understand the other side of the story, giving more rooms for considerations and proper analysis.

5. Be ready to walk away

Never be pressured to win over a negotiation. Keep in mind that it is not always a winwin situation for you. In fact, one of the greatest mistakes people commit thats why they fail to get what they want is that they are too determined to acquire their goals. It is like they have created a now or never scene.

Experts recommend that it is still best to always have a choice. Do not assume that when you negotiate, it should always be a point of no return. Be open for alternatives. If you think you can never have it your way, so be it. There is always a next time, and next times are always better.

So the next time you plan to negotiate on something, keep these things in mind. In one way or another, you will be able to foresee a positive result if you really know how to play your cards well. It should never be a gamble. Remember, successful negotiations should always be patterned with logical thinking.
